Despite the heavy rain early on, Vogue Paris Fashion Night Out 2013 went off without a hitch. For one night, shops along the infamous Parisian street transformed into cocktail lounges and nightclubs as thousands of people poured the streets clinging to their umbrellas and designer handbags. From Maje to Galliano, Chanel to Lancaster, many could be seen lining up outside as DJs spun their beats, echoing from each end of Rue St Honore.
The Vogue Fashion's Night Out was originally created in New York to celebrate fashion with music, cocktails and discounts. The brainchild of Anna Wintour, FNO was launched in 2009 to kick start the economy by encouraging people to start spending money again. The proceeds of sales on the night go towards various charitable causes. Retailers offer exclusive items that are only available at the special one day event.
The Paris 2013 event was my first experience and it was a fun night with free champagne , good music and new collections for all to see for the lucky ones with invites. I spent quite some time at Galliano's for the atmosphere and champagne :) but later on jumped from shop to shop with my compadre Luis.
