You can see most of Rome in 2-3 days as many of the main tourist attractions are right in the city center and within walking distance. I stayed in a charming place called Trasteverre away from the hustle and bustle of tourists but a stone's throw away from the cobblestone streets which envelope restaurants, bars and cafes alike. This area is a popular destination but not as congested as areas such as the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain so it's a great place to chill out, have a drink or eat.
